Youri Tielemans was on fire for Aston Villa as they beat Young Boys 3-0 in their first UCL game in 41 years. He scored the game’s first goal and ended up with the Man of the Match award on this memorable and historic night for the Villans.
6) Ibrahima Konate
Ibrahima Konate was again solid at the back alongside Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool beat Milan 1-3. He bagged a goal from a good set-piece delivery by Trent Alexander-Arnold. He also kept Milan’s dangerman, Raphael Leao silent for most of the night.
5) Viktor Gyökeres
One of the most in-form strikers, Viktor Gyökeres was brilliant again versus OSC Lille. He scored a wonderful goal against the French side – a goal exhibiting his goalscoring prowess once again. Well, his goal came in the 38th minute and his overall performance was great. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
4) Michael Olise
The Frenchman was in the mood as the German giants crushed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2. Although Harry Kane took most of the spotlight, Michael Olise also performed greatly in the match. The summer signing has easily understood what is expected of him in the team.
3) Ryan Gravenberch
The Liverpool midfielder displayed a very great performance in the middle of the park as the Reds beat Milan 3-1 at San Siro. Surely, the Dutchman looks revitalized under new boss Arne Slot and he has not dropped a bad game this season. Another fine performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
2) Thibaut Courtois
The Real Madrid goalkeeper was again solid against VFB Stuttgart on Tuesday. He pulled off great saves to help Real Madrid in the game as he always does. Without those saves, his side would be behind or would have dropped points too. He looks in top shape and would be very important for the Los Blancos during the season. The Belgian also won the Man of the Match award.
1) Harry Kane
Of course, fans will say “he scored 3 penalties, how is he number one?.” If it’s so easy playing 3 penalties in a game and scoring all, go and try it and see. He continued his fine form this season by scoring 4 goals in the 9-2 wiping of Zagreb. He has been on a high goalscoring level since he joined Bayern Munich and it’s not ending anytime soon. Harry Kane was the Man of the Match.
