Top 5 Standout Performers In PL Matchday 3

The third weekend of the new season of the Premier League has flown by with a full display of goals, misses, saves, comebacks, and a whole lot more. Next up is the international break, meaning these past weekend’s results will be a constant in fans’ memories until the league returns. However, we cannot deny that some players’ performances stood out in Matchday 3 of the Premier League.

These players are analyzed below.

5) Luis Sinisterra

Contribution: 1 Goal & 1 Assist

The Colombian International was the “Chief Cook” as Bournemouth performed a late comeback to win away from home. His side AFC Bournemouth defeated Everton 3-2 thanks to the never-dying spirit of the team. Sinisterra bagged an assist in the 92nd minute for his side’s equalizer. He then scored the winner for his side right in the 96th minute of the game. He put up a top performance throughout the game.

4) Bryan Mbeumo

Contribution: 2 Goals

The Cameroon International has been the main man for the Bees so far this season as he is set to fill the void left by the departure of club captain, Ivan Toney. He bagged 2 well-taken goals in the game against the “South Coasters”, Southampton. His first came in the 43rd minute, a few minutes before half-time, and his second in the 65th minute of the game. He will surely be an important asset for the club during the season and most likely be Brentford’s goal-getter.

3) Mohamed Salah

Contribution: 2 Assists & 1 Goal

It seems he and Erling Haaland would keep appearing in our weekly analysis as they are both “Machines”. Let’s stay on Mo for now. The Egypt National Team captain was once again in the mood as he tore down Manchester United for the umpteenth time in his career as Liverpool won 3-0 away from home. This time around he was more of a provider – he assisted both goals scored by Luis Diaz. He then got his name on the scoresheet with a beautiful one-time shot at the near post. He now has 12 goals against Manchester United in his 15 matches against them.

2) Luis Diaz

Contribution: 2 Goals

Another Colombia International on the list, this time from the Merseyside part of England. Luis Diaz was untouchable in the derby win against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Of course, his dribbling skills were on display for the away fans to enjoy but his brace against the club’s arch-rivals means more. His first came in the 35th minute via a header and his second was a brilliant one-time drive into the net in the 42nd minute of the encounter. He has started the season on fire – Liverpool supporters are hoping his form brings them silverware this season.

1) Erling Haaland

Contribution: 3 Goals

This man does not know when to stop. He has bagged another Premier League hat trick, his second already in 3 matches this season – so wild! Haaland got his second hattrick of the season during his side’s 3-1 away win over West Ham United. His first in the 10th minute, second in the 30th minute, and third in the 83rd minute, with all goals being sublime finishes. He just seems to be a thorn in most Premier League defender’s flesh. At this rate, he is going to surpass some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s and Lionel Messi’s incredible records in football history. He sits atop the goalscoring chart with 7 goals in 3 Premier League games.
