We have released a ranking of the 10 greatest goal celebrations in the history of the Premier League.

 

10) Aubameyang – Somersaults

The former Arsenal striker was known for hitting the somersaults after scoring goals. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Aubameyang revealed that a Real Madrid legend inspired his style of celebration.

The Gabonese said “I remember that I started a long time ago at home watching videos. “If I’m telling the truth, it was from a player who played for the other team – Hugo Sánchez.”

 

9) Mohamed Salah – Yoga Man

Mohamed Salah has been a top performer in the Premier League in all seasons he has played in since his arrival in 2017. Well, he would be fondly remembered for his strike against Chelsea at Anfield in the 2018/19 season and his celebration thereafter.

After striking the ball into the top left corner, Salah performed the “yoga man” by standing on one leg, putting his hands in front of his chest in a praying position and closing his eyes.

The celebration went viral that it was added to the celebrations in FIFA 20.

 

8) Jimmy Bullard – “Mimicking Phil Brown”

After a disappointing first half display which ended in Phil Brown taking Hull City’s half-time team talk on the pitch in a game against Manchester City the season before, Hull wanted to put up a better display during their encounter in 2008.

Hull City were awarded a penalty in the second half at 1-0 down, Jimmy Bullard stepped up to take the penalty for the away side.

He scored and celebrated by gathering his team-mates in a circle and mimicked the telling off Phil Brown gave his team the following season. One of the funniest celebrations ever.

 

7) Eric Cantona – Confusion Style

 

Eric Cantona is one of the league’s most popular players, and in 1966, he scored one of the league’s most popular goals.

Manchester United were leading 4-0 at home to Sunderland, when he played a one-two with a teammate, looked up and lofted Lionel Perez from 18-yards out.

Cantona stopped dead, looked around the stadium and lifted his arms in a typical cool style. What a celebration that was.

 

6) Alan Shearer – Right-Arm up While Sprinting

Alan Shearer is the all-time Premier League leading goalscorer and he has one of the most famous celebrations too.

After he scores almost every goal, Alan Shearer would sprint away raising his right-arm straight up in the air.

It is a very simple celebration. However, it became a league classic.

 

5) Christian Benteke – Knee Breaker

Crystal palace got a surprise win over Arsenal at the Emirates in 2019, with Benteke opening the scoring for Palace. He found himself free from a Palace free-kick and nodded the ball past Leno giving his team the lead.

Meanwhile, Christian Benteke displayed his signature celebration as he pretended to break things over his knee. He silenced the home fans at that moment.

 

4) Steven Gerrard – Camera Kiss

Liverpool and Manchester United have one of the greatest rivalries in the history of football. Also, there have been some famous goals in these match-ups.

After scoring once already from the penalty spot, Gerrard increased Liverpool’s lead over the Red Devils by scoring another penalty.

Afterwards, he ran over to kiss one of the cameras on the sidelines. A famous celebration in a game which Liverpool got a famous win.

 

3) Peter Crouch – Robot

Peter Crouch is one of England’s all time great strikers. He was so liked due to his famous “robot” celebration.

Sadly, fans had lost hope they would see the celebration again after he abandoned it for over 10 years.

However, in 2017 he celebrated his 100th Premier League goal by doing the robot in a Stoke City’s 1-1 home draw against Everton.

 

2) Sergio Kun Aguero – Wild Celebration

In the tightest title race ever, Manchester City won the league on the final day in a Hollywood fashion after a 3-2 win over QPR. Manchester United lost the title to their city rivals. City came from a 2-1 deficit to win the game, with Sergio Aguero’s last-minute winner giving the Cityzens the league title.

The striker went absolutely wild as did all Manchester City faithfuls in the stadium on that day.

It is one of the Premier League’s most famous goals and celebrations.

 

1) Daniel Sturridge – Dancing Studge

The former Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge was one of England’s top strikers for a period.

However, he was popular for his famous dancing celebration which he would after every goal he scored.

His celebration had a certain pull that no one else’s had. He takes the number one spot.
